The Story Behind Lunora™

Every month, millions of women and young girls silently endure pain that the world often overlooks. They continue their studies, their work, their responsibilities—hiding discomfort behind strength, because society has taught them to “just deal with it.”

But we asked a simple question: Why should they?

The name Lunorais inspired by the word “Lunar”—the moon, which has always been deeply connected to the natural cycle of a woman’s body. Just like the moon goes through phases, women experience their own rhythms—beautiful, powerful, yet sometimes painful. Lunorarepresents that connection: gentle, constant, and understanding.

We chose this name because the moon doesn’t fight the darkness—it softly illuminates it.

That’s exactly what Lunora aims to do.

Lunora is not just a heating patch. It is a small but meaningful companion for every woman and girl who has ever felt discomfort, held back plans, or suffered in silence during her cycle. It brings warmth not only to ease physical pain but also to offer emotional comfort—a reminder that they are cared for, understood, and supported.

With Lunora, we want to replace silence with care, discomfort with relief, and hesitation with confidence.

Because no woman should have to pause her life because of pain.

Lunora is warmth, care, and strength—designed for her.

Lunora™ Normal Heating Patch

The Lunora™ Normal Heating Patch is a scientifically designed, drug-free solution for effective relief from menstrual cramps and localized muscular discomfort through advanced thermotherapy. The patch contains a carefully balanced composition of iron powder, activated carbon, natural salts, water, and vermiculite, which work together to generate gentle, consistent heat when exposed to air. This controlled exothermic reaction provides a stable temperature range of approximately 40–55°C for up to 8–12 hours, ensuring long-lasting comfort without the need for electricity or medication .

Lunora™ is specifically developed for use during menstruation, where the sustained warmth helps increase blood circulation, relax uterine muscles, and reduce pain-causing cramps, making it an effective and safe alternative to oral painkillers . The patch is easy to use, discreet, and designed to be worn under clothing, allowing women and girls to continue their daily activities without interruption. Its non-invasive and chemical-free nature makes it suitable for regular use, even for individuals with sensitivity to medications.

With its combination of natural heat generation, prolonged effectiveness, and user-friendly design, Lunora empowers women to manage period pain comfortably, safely, and independently—bringing warmth, relief, and confidence into their everyday lives.

Lunora+™ (Heat-Assisted Diclofenac Transdermal Patch – Dual-Action Innovation)

Lunora+™ represents our advanced, next-generation solution for menstrual pain management—designed as a dual-action, wearable patch that integrates controlled therapeutic heat (40–42°C) with localized transdermal delivery of diclofenac. This innovative system aims to provide effective, non-invasive relief from primary dysmenorrhea by addressing both the physiological causes of pain and the need for convenient, continuous therapy.

Menstrual pain is primarily associated with elevated prostaglandin levels, leading to uterine hypercontractility and reduced blood flow. While oral NSAIDs like diclofenac are widely used, they may cause gastrointestinal side effects, and conventional heat therapy, though effective, lacks portability and consistency. Lunora+ is designed to bridge this gap by combining muscle-relaxing thermotherapy with localized anti-inflammatory action, offering a more targeted and user-friendly alternative.

The patch utilizes a multi-layer engineered structure, including a breathable backing, oxygen-controlled heat generation system (based on iron oxidation), a heat distribution layer, and a drug-in-adhesive matrix containing diclofenac with optimized penetration enhancers. The controlled heat not only promotes vasodilation and muscle relaxation but is also scientifically positioned to enhance transdermal drug permeation, based on diffusion principles, potentially improving therapeutic efficiency.

Designed for 6–8 hours of continuous use, Lunora+ is thin, discreet, sweat-resistant, and suitable for daily wear under clothing. The product is currently being developed through a rigorous, phase-wise R&D approach, including thermal profiling, formulation optimization, in-vitro permeation studies (Franz diffusion model), and safety validation, ensuring stable heat delivery, effective drug release, and skin compatibility.

Importantly, while transdermal diclofenac is well established for localized musculoskeletal pain, its application in menstrual pain through a heat-assisted delivery platform is an innovative and exploratory approach in this project, with planned scientific validation to establish efficacy and safety.

With Lunora+, we aim to introduce not just a product, but a scalable therapeutic platform that can redefine how localized pain is managed—combining comfort, science, and innovation to empower women with smarter, safer, and more effective care.
